Is it okay to buy a $15 - $20 digital camera?

Are they pretty good? I would like to start off with one around that price range and I can work up to buy a more expensive one but I am looking around that price range now. Do some that price have a screen on it when you take pictures you see the person? COuld you give me a lot of details on this? THANKS!

For that price you麓d better buy a phone with a camera. No digital camera at this price level will ever satisfy you. Really!
You could buy a low end used DSLR but that means probably some US$ 200 to US$ 400.
Try www.keh.com they have the best used equipment on the whole planet. I recommend always a DSLR because the sensor is bigger than in a point and shoot. That means that you麓ll be able to take pictures in lower light than with any point and shoot. Additionally. they have an optical finder that allows you to control better your exposure and focus. I麓m serious about this. It麓s my job. I have bought many items from keh and they have always delivered. write to Ed Warrick at edwa@keh.com he麓ll help you out.

You're very much welcome. I hope you get a good deal. Report It

And thanks for the 10 points :) Report It

don't expect much

omgg... 15 dollars? hellls no!!! what kind of camera is that ? unless it takes like one picture. why would you waste your money on a bad one when yo could just spend it all on one good one. the good cheap ones should usually cost around 100-200. but theyll usually be old ones. get a canon i like those.

sure it is, it's your money, but doing so would be a waste of $14-$20, start with one that would actually work maybe around the $50-$75 range, it would be an obsolete model but it would still have the same basic functions that newer models have

The thing is, the camera might be utter rubbish at that price. To be honest, I could pretty much guarantee that you'll want a new one in 3 weeks time.
For a starter camera you need to look for around 4 megapixels with a 3x optical zoom. A screen may not be included in something as cheap as 15 - 20 dollars.
Now I am in the uk, and a general price in an electrical goods store for a lower range camera, but still quite good for beginners is around 拢79 - 99, these will have l.c.d screens on the back.
Believe me when I say that unless you're just getting a spectacular deal with the local camera shop, you should try and move your price bracket higher to see if you can get something that will last you a couple of years at least.

One in that price range would probably be pocket size with a little key ring on it, and no screen to preview your pics. Instead you'd just have to hope for the best and find out after you've exported the pics to your computer. As far as picture quality goes, it most likely won't be all that great. Most cameras that size at a retail store would probaby only boast 2 or less megapixels. That's okay for some. But if you want quality pictures, I would save up and not settle for anything less that 3 megapixels.

Never heard of one in that price range. Who ever told you that is pulling your chain. Get even with them and tell some big bogus, but funny lie......

NO,spend a little more like $50-100

That may be a good starter, but don't expect the world when it comes to resolution.
