Looking into buying a digital camera..?

okay so i am looking into buying a Kodak Easyshare Z712 and i found this site "www.thedigitalnerds.com" and its a really good price on there..but do you think i can trust it? and go ahead and order it?

First of all, I see you just joined, so welcome to yahoo answers! I guess it's up to you if you want to order it from there, but me recommenation would be to order it from a website that actually has a store that you can take it to if you have trouble. I looked it up on circuitcity.com and they have a really good price. I'd recommend ordering there because I have and haven't had any problems.

check out ritz camera. they always have a sale. shipping is free & no tax. you can take it to the store to have repaired, they have expanded service policy that covers everything except fire theft or loss (will replace your camera). i worked for ritz for a while. this is the best deal of life. you can buy from one to 5 years coverage(covers annual clean & check). i would encourage @ least 1 year. Working @ ritz, the most common damage i saw in digital cameras was impact damage from people dropping it. the 2nd most common thing i saw was some type of liquid damage. (soda or something spilled in or on the camera. the 3rd was broken door & 4th was lens cover stuck. i opted for the olympus 720sw. (i got it from best buy) i got it because it had a steel body, 21/2" screen on back, was impact resistant to 5 feet, & waterproof. (can take pix in rain) or underwater with special housing up to 10 feet deep, 24 different shooting modes including video with sound. what sold me most on this though was image stabalization. for other comparable cameras in price/zoom, this was the best deal for me. 6 mos later, they came out with an even better model that had more features.

PS if you're spending about $200- nothing wrong with Canon PowerShot A630. 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels, will give you excellent 8X10 print.
