Didital camera info?

i have an N70 Nokia mobile with a 2 megapixel camera, it shoots good pics but i've been thinking about getting a digital camera (more than 3 megapixels)...so what trademark? (sony, cannon....etc) and what's the best criteria for a mid-price camera??
P.S: i don't wanna buy online

I work at an electronics store and generally recommend canons for basic use. In australia we have a s400 which is 4mp, 4x optical zoom. Decent and cheap. Not sure if the same model is available where you are. If you want something slimmer with rechargable batteries, there is the IXUS range. 5mp 3x opical zoom and a nice big 2.5" screen. Called ixus 55 here. Should be able to find either worldwide. Just depends what you want to pay. I don't really like sonys they are overpriced and they software is not very user-friendly.

sony cybershot is the best but my second option would be canon
