What is a good digital camera to buy that is moderatly priced?

I love my HP. Never had any problems with it other than eating through batteries so I got rechargeable ones and it solved that!

I think that Sony cameras have good quality and sometime it is pretty cheap.

I love my Pentax to death. It takes really clear pictures, the delay is negligible, and it takes video with audio. Pretty much all I ever wanted!! :)

What do you mean good? What do you mean moderately priced? If you want a camera with interchangeable lens 8 mega pixel I would recommend the Olympus evolt e300 or e500. (range is from around 500 to 1000 bucks)
If you want a point and shoot, there are many out there that are good.

Personally I would not get less than a 6 mega pixel, and prefer an 8, but sometimes it is hard to fit your budget and your wishes together.. so go with the highest mega pixel you can afford.

Try the Sony DSC series. They are affordable and very simple to use. If you don't have a lot of experience these cameras will make you look like a hero.

Look for something in the 6-8 megapixel range. Since this is probably your first digital there is no reason to reach for the top model. You will probably use it for a few months and then decide you have learned enough to buy something fancier.

Tiny is not always better. The ultra-thin Sony DSC-T series are beautiful and take great pictures, but they are so small that they will shake more.

It does *not* have to be a Sony but from personal experience I have owned Sonys for the past five years with zero incidents. I still carry a Sony DSC-P200 wherever I go, even if I have a Nikon D50 digital SLR.
