Best camera.. quality/price?

I am planning on buying a digital camera this weekend. The last camera I bought, I paid $100 for and regret it, because I pretty much blew $100 for something that had horrible quality and pretty much fell apart within a few months. So, now I really want to get a better quality camera, however, I'm still on a tight budget.. At this point, the max I really wanted to spend is $200.. I don't need a professional high tech camera, just something that gives me a good quality that won't fall apart. Is my price limit too low? What's the best camera for the price?? Thanxx

The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading.

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras and learn as much as they can from the internet.
Go to the store and hold them and try them to see what they feel like in your hands.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

Unfortnately, you will need to spend around $250 to $300.00 for a decent point & shoot with easy controls & acceptable picture quality. Save your money a little while longer. The wait will be worth the happiness.

The Sony Cybershot SDC-W55

I would suggest reading a lot of the reviews to see if it fits your needs and budget. I have this camera, and I have to say that it has to be the best one for under $200!

Your limit is just fine, just remember memory card, unless you have one.
Canon PowerShot A630. 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels. Is very good on AA rechargeable batteries. Has manual controls in addition to auto. Will give you excellent 8X10 print.
Look at Website
dpreview.com
and under Canon you'll find reviews from people who bought that model. It also shows prices and one of cheapest is Circuit City at $204- so it's a smidgen above $200-according to that Website for that model.
PS I haven't looked but you may want to look at Canon PowerShot A550 for their reviews. It would be cheaper than the A630. If neither one looks good, stay with Sony or Fuji in the $150- to $200- range. And I couldn't agree more with Tom Tom. Read and re read instruction manual. Whatever you don't understand call their customer service; as far as I know they All have 800 numbers.

I've been happy with the Fujifilm Finepix F10. It was $400 when I bought it a couple of years ago. Because it's so old, it's less than $150 (if you can find it anywhere).
