Here is the mantra .. It isn't the camera but the photographer.

Both will give you crystal clear photos if you use good photographic skills.

That said, Sony uses a proprietary memory card, so once you buy a Sony, you will be buying them until you are willing to replace all your memory cards with SD's which are the most commonly used in the compact digital camera world.

Yes, the photographer is more important than the camera in overall image quality, but if the same photographer had to choose between cameras with different image quality, it might make a difference to know what the lab tests say.

I think the Sony has the better zooming capability as for crystal clear pictures it depends on the photographer & the camera. I'd say the best camera would cost in the range of $500 and up to $1,000.

If you ever see a photographer taking pictures of a model for a magazine cover you should ask him what kind of camera does he use & how he develops the pictures. I like the Canon camera because of the viewing screen in the back of the camera. You can preview your pictures. But with the Sony camera you can't do that no viewing screen.
