Got any suggestions for a good digital camera?

Hi, I am asking a friend to bring a digital camera back for me from America and want to know if anyone has any suggestions?

I'm not hugely picky but I guess one that is easy to use, durable and has good storage would be nice.

I don't want sony as I have heard they are a rip off.

Can anyone recommend a good camera (price doesn't matter too much as the euro is so strong against the dollar at the moment)

I'd definitely recommend my Fuji F10 (I think it's been upgraded recently) Superb battery life and will take good pics without a flash in dark rooms (great for theatre or museums where you're not supposed to take pics!)

Fuji are pretty reliable

I have a Kodak C653 and it's entirely easy to use. Has one of the bigger screens on the back of it also. And it's between $130.00 and $150.00.

digital camera back looks different for different models and makes. the ones that is easy to use, durable and has good storage will sometimes have it printed on the back of the good digital camera or the box in which it is kept.

I recommend megapixel models

Canon Powershots are good.

Is not so much the camera, but the pixels. A camera with 10 megapixels will get you some pretty good pictures. I've seen them range depending on the manufacturer anywhere from $300 to a thousand dollars.

In my Experience sony has not a bad name but thats my thoght.
Kodak is a medium and quite easy to use (or not a bad camera)
Canon high price but very good.
Casio takes good pictures and small in physical size.

Sorry to disagree, but whoever told you that Sony is a ripoff is an idiot.
I have a Sony not made anymore that's 6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom that takes excellent 8X10 prints.
Two good cameras are Canon PowerShot A630 and Canon PowerShot A710 IS.
The A630 is 4X optical zoom, at 8 megapixels and has manual controls.
The A710 IS 6X optical zoom at 7 megapixels, also has manual controls and has an image stabilizer.

i just bought a fuji f20 image quality is fantastic,not many features though more of piont and shoot,go to www.trustedreviews.co.uk and read the testers opinion,cost about 100quid.
