I am looking for an economically priced digital camera?

I need to get a digital camera that takes good pictures in very low/evening lighting. I can't afford to pay $1000's of dollars. I don't know alot about them, but just know my little digital won't do the trick. I have to take pictures at a party where there will be very little lighting, so I need something with a flash and will take decent pictures. My little one has a flash, but I can't see the picture I am taking until I have already taken it. I hope that makes sense!!!??? Help!!

Listen to Chuckie. There are a lot of great cameras out there, but only Fuji has really addressed the low light issue. The Fuji F20, F30, F31fd have 2 to 3 stops better low light performance than anything else out there, shy of a DSLR.

The other good news is that the F20 is available for as low as $139 from Dell. don't let the low price fool you- it has truly top notch image quality. There aren't any good reviews on the F20, as it's essentially a simpler version of the F30. Same lens and ccd, with fewer manual controls.

Here's a review of the F30. the newer F31fd is pretty much the same camera with some slight metering improvements and face detection (oh... wooopie)

Don't go with fuji, hi ISO but lots of noise. The only nice fujis are E500 series and the pro models. I've owned 5 fujis since 1999 and they all have lots of noise at high ISO. its due to the small ccds. Report It

Try Canon 600 series

I suggest either the Fujifilm F30 or F20 - here's are the specs for these cameras:
