What is a good digital camera at a decent price? not too expansive?

You need to look at cameras that are going to suit your specific needs. For instance, what are you going to be taking pictures of. Will your shots be close up, distance, portrait??? And what is your price range. My Panasonic cost around $700.00. For me, that was a good price for a camera that does everything and then some. My wife has a Canon, which was half the price and really suits her needs. Although she uses my camera when she wants to take a close up of birds, wildlife etc.
Start with determining what you'll be photographing and work from there. With my 36 X digital zoom, I've taken close up shots of parrots in trees and feeding on the ground. Great photos, very clear.
Don't go cheap, you'll be dissapointed and will spend extra money later (not much later) to get a better camera.

Even though I personally own this camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:

1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
