the Casio 10.1 Camera, is one of the best i've found, the one in the link is the 7 megapixel one, which is less expensive, but has a great qaulity to it, than most regular digital cameras.

It's amazing, the settings are amazing, it's easy to use, it also doubles as a camcorder, it can record up to 28 minutes of movie. it has settings that make every picture look amazing, you can take pictures of moving objects with no fuzz, it's seriously the best camera for the slightly above average digital camera user. It's almost professional grade, it takes professional looking pictures, the 10.1 version makes poster size images with out fuzz. (the only main differance).

not only that, if you shop around for it, it's at walmart for cheaper, and it comes in quite a few diffearnt colors, including, pink, blue, black and silver.

I like minolta and canon

Canon. If you want something small, look into the Powershots

HP has awesome 5 megapixel cameras under $150. I've used two and they've been great.

I like Canon digital cameras. You can find a Canon Powershot SD550 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom which is on Amazon for about $250 - 350 for used - like new or new. Try looking on Ebay and Costco also.

I'm sure that you will get a lot of good answers on this one. There are many good cameras out there. I like Kodak cameras because they are very user friendly. You should figure out what you want to use your camera for and then start looking for a camera that has the features that you want. The more mega pixels, the bigger the picture you can print but, how big do you really need to print a picture? also look at the type of removable storage they use, get something compatible with the memory card reader you may already have. I recently upgraded to a Kodak with a 12x zoom on it because I wasn't able to get close enough for my shots on my old 3x zoom but, now I have to lug around a larger camera that won't fit into my pocket. Good luck.

Please post a new question. Tell us how much you want to spend, what you plan to use the camera for most of the time, and what your prior experience is with photography. With this information, we will be much more helpful to you.

Steve's reviews updates the "Best Camera" list periodically:
http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_came...

This is somewhat out of date, but check this page for a general idea:

http://tech.yahoo.com/rc/digital-cameras... Most cameras mentioned have been replaced with newer models, which we will hope are as good or better than what they replaced.

Here's another resource for you. Look on down the page if you are interested in point and shoot cameras instead of dSLR's.

Here's another listing in order by ratings. They are only separated according to general groups, such as "Highly Recommended," etc. They are NOT listed within the groups according to higher rating. They are listed by date tested.

I am not into those little pocket cameras as to me, they're cheap and if it falls you buy another. The Fuji (like the S5100 or S9100) is a digital but look & feels much like a 35mm. The DSLRs by Canon like the Reble XT or XTi are great.

My wife own's a S5000 Fuji and I own a XTi from Canon (w/Tamron 18-250 zoom lens).

For reviews, demos and great prices try www.bhphotovideo.com they also have a Professional staff on hand.

You might consider the Canon PowerShot A630. According to Website dpreview.com Circuit City has it for $212-, Consider the Canon PowerShot A570IS $171 at Beach Camera. You might consider the Fuji E900, $190 at Abe's of Maine according to above Website.

For SLR digi cam go for the Nikon D200, maybe the D80

For point and shoot cam go for the Casio Z75 or Z1050 is a great choice, nice and thin, lightweight, shoots photos and video with sound. Can edit pics from big to small in the camera. Easy to use controls and a 2.5" screen to view.
