Can anyone recommend a good digital camera in the 拢100-拢200 price range?

I am interested in a basic first digital camera for use with family/kids photos of the everyday sort?

Start with the budget. You've already done that. This may seem backwards, but it's not. You can find a decent camera to match any amount of money you want to spend.

Next, find a friend who will help you learn how to use the camera. This "friend" could even be the clerk in your local photo shop. By "photo shop," I mean an actual camera shop or at least a camera department where the sales staff only deals with cameras and not dishwashers, too. Buy the camera that your friend recommends so that they will be able to teach you how to use it.

After you know what you are doing and are ready for your next camera - and this will come sooner than you think - you will be in a position to make your own choice.

The olympus x-715 is pretty hot for 135 nicker --5 mega pixel

Do not know cameras very well,But if you look on ebay i am sure you will see top of the range cameras in your budget

Olympus - small , simple to use and I have " played with one" for 2 years with some success.

Fujifilm E900, I have one they are very good. 9.9 mpix and 4X optical zoom 拢180 on Amazon

I bought this camera a few weeks ago and i love it....if you look on the net you can get it cheaper than the shops. Think we got it for about 拢164

The screen is brilliant for looking back at the photos without actually downloading them to your computer!

the samsung i6, good quality camera - 6mp. it has an mp3 player in it and a pmp in it. There is the olympus 720sw which is shock proof and water proof, gr8 4 the kids cos if they drop it then it shouldnt break.

I like canon's as they give good colours on prints.
