Is this a good camera for the price? Polaroid A515 digital camera with 4x zoom and 16 mb storage for $70?

I received this camera 2 weeks before Christmas from a friend. He bought 4 other ones too. Needless to say the flash quit working on all of them right before Christmas. So i would say to anyone thinking of buying this camera NOT TO!!!! Report It

what's the picture quality (megapixel or more)? If not, then no, you got ripped off. if it's three megapixels or more, then, yeah, that's a pretty good deal. the more megapixels the camera has, the better the deal! MP has to do with how tiny the pixels (squares of color) are in the photo to increase color and clarity.

At 5 megapixels the 16meg of storage might not even yield 10 shots so plan on adding another $20- 40 for a memory card with some more space. Heres something: Check out the Polaroid i533 at Sears and I believe Walmart. Its $99 and a bit more than the Polaroid A515 but it has some features that are quite unusual for a camera under $200 even. Video mode of 30 fps @ 640 x 480 + a 2.5" LCD that is 1.5 megapixel. I just bought a $300+ Canon A640 and the 2.5" LCD has a lower resolution than that!!! But the 640 has full manual mode and a flip out LCD which I love. Anyways I have done a lot of research (my nephew needs something to start out with) and this camera has a lot of bang for the $. Believe me when you see how it captures video and the quality of the LCD you will be amazed with what todays digital cameras can do. Camcorders are better for video because they capture at 70 fps (sorry, thats frames per second) but in a pinch you could catch some scene with broadcast quality video with a $100 multitasker that fits in your pocket. Picture quality I cannot vouch for but seeing as how they went out of their way to make the other features so good the still shots will more than likely be up to par with a camera with double the price.
