Can anyone recommend a good digital camera? My price range is no more than $300.?

Take a look at the Fuji F30. You can get it for between $204 to $300 on line. It takes incredible pics, videos, has 3x optical zoom, has a decent battery life, compact form factor, and has terrific preset shooting modes, which really work. As a point-and-shoot cam, the f30 is the best cam $300 can buy. How does it do against a canon sd-series? I've got both the f30 and the SD700IS, and I like the output from the f30 better. It has amazing low-light performance due to the Fuji SuperCCD sensor. No other manufacturer has been able to pull of as good a sensor. And seriously, when it comes to digital photography, sensor capabilities are as important as optics. If point-and-shoot simplicity with uncompromising image quality is what you're after...you should definitely check this one out. It gets the DPReview "Highly Recommended." rating. And if you look at the comparison shots between the F30 with its SuperCCD 6mp sensor vs. the Canons SD700IS...there's no competition.

I have a Sony DSC-S90. $200 and the best for the money. It has a big screen instead of these other cameras. 4.1 Mega Pixels, and it has internal memory of 20 pictures. So if you are like me and cannot afford a memory card right away, then it works great. Plus, it is really easy to copy the pictures to the computer.

Nikon L3 $100-$150 and can be found on eBay for around $125 if you look. Try RitzCamera.com for other good deals.

Canon A540. 6 megapixel, 4x optical zoom. Takes great pictures and you can make movies on it too. I love mine. Got it for Christmas but it is about $200. They also have some packages on ebay that include a memory card.

Canon powershot's are the industry standard for how digital cameras should be. They always rank in the top 3 of every comarison ive seen usually #1. The optics are second to none for the price range your in. I recommend looking for them on Ebay for a competitive price. Happy hunting!
