Need good advice concerning kodak easy share c743.on offer at argos but cheaper refurbished from e bay. Help?

Searched for days now for decent camera to take on holiday in just over 1 weeks time. Read nearly all review sites, been on most price checkers, spent loads time on e bay. Just can't make mind up as to which 1. Been drawn towards the kodak easyshare c743 and so far looks great but then I just have to read reveiws and its frustrating as to the amount of people who favour this camera and the amount who mentioned few minor downsides. Far too many makes and models but I have tried narrowing down to what I want in a camera.
An sd card as I have a 512 mb from previous camera, anything from 3x optical and 5x digital zoom but not sure about the digital. Would prefer video and audio, mostly a camera that isn't slow in taking shots one after the other as I have missed many a memorable photo with having to wait so long in between taking shots. Would also prefer a not to large, so compact would suit.

I dont get it.... I wouldnt get a Kodak PERIOD. Their quality sucks. I had 3 and all barely lasted a year (less than a year) Batteries were shot, imagine quality was medicore, and the things are way behind Canons. If you want a decent camera get teh Canon SD600. $250 in most places.

I bought a kodak c875 from ebay.
It is refurbished and cost $120.00
I am very happy with it.

do yourself a big favor, stay away from any or all refurbished cameras! do not get me wrong here, their is nothing wrong in trying to save a buck! but what you will get will be nothing but a (MAJOR, MASSIVE HEADACHE!) when you buying refurbish anything, you are getting some one else HEADACHES!! and chances are their is no warranty that comes with it! what you are doing is buying someones problems! stay away, it's worth spending a few more dollars then buying it on the cheep!!
