Is there a way to delete pictures immediately after taking them with the Kodak C763?

On most digital cameras if you do not like a picture you can delete it immediately after you take it. I have tried, but cannot find a way to do this with my C763. The only way I have figured is to hit the review button right after you take the picture, hit the menu button, then scroll down and delete. Theres got to be an easier way...Am I missing something?

According to the quickstart guide and owner's manual, that's the recommended way.

Apparently, Kodak wants to put layers of protection there to prevent 'accidental' deletions. :(

Though it's time-consuming, it's better than all the postings we see on here about 'how do I recover pictures that I accidently deleted?' on Yahoo! Answers.

Suggestion: Get a larger memory card (SD cards are so cheap nowadays) and just take the pictures. If the picture needs to be retaken, just retake it.

I would download them all to the computer, and delete them from within the computer after viewing on the larger screen. Then, you can and should 'format' the memory card before the next use, and it will delete all the photos.

Hope this is helpful.

That is a VERY bad idea.

Each image you capture is recorded on an image index file on the cameras card. As you delete images, the file attempts to keep track of those activities. Eventually the file becomes corrupt and then you loose all your images.

Best work flow for shooting digital images is to shoot the good, bad and ugly and after you have copied all the images to your computer, then delete the bad ones (called editing). Buy a couple of cards (they are cheap now) so you don't end up with more images to shoot than memory left on your cards.

Then using the format feature on the camera, format the card. This refreshes the card and writes a new image index file. Do this every time and your card will continue working for many years (about 50 if you don't damage it) and you will not loose any images.

press the delete button on the back of the camera
