Helmet / Tank Camera? |
I was looking at this camera that has great reviews but there are so many out there. I just wondered if anybody on here has any recommendations. I'm not looking to spend more than $100. This ATC2K camera has a 2GB SD Card capacity and easily straps to any helmet. for $95 I think it's cool. This camera would be for uploading clips to websites like metacafe and youtube. Looks good to me. 2GB should hold a 30 minute ride depending on resolution. Getting into lipstick cameras will bring you over your $100 budget. You can get a 2GB SD card for like $5 so get 2 or 3 of them if you're going on a long trip. Your ad doesn't say how may minutes of recording a 2GB card will run. If you want to record a ride lasting several minutes, 2GB may not be enough video storage. New SD technology is making cards up to 8GB, but they are not compatible with all cameras. Ask a few more questions before you buy. Looks very cool but quality wise it might look like a webcam. For a good camera and mounting system, look to spend way more than $100. Parts Unlimited Street Motorcycle has many options on the camera, like helmet mount, tank mount, footrest mount, etc. Check it out. Have you ever seen video that somebody took with a helmet cam? I used to think it was a cool idea till I actually saw it. I used to work at an HD dealership and a customer brought a video in from Rolling Thunder (we were located in the DC area). That video was BORING! That definitely killed any want that I had in obtaining a helmet cam. not sure of the catagory but i have seen them on ebay on bicycle helmets and just the cam with a strap mount bout $40 dont know how good they would be |
