Windows Vista Downgrade to Windows XP?

I bought an acer aspire about 5 months ago and been using Vista since then. I don't like vista because I cant ftp my Xbox with it and there is many other problems I don't feel like listing

This is the Specs of what it has and this is my exact model. I want to know if the camera built in will still work with Xp, and if anything else listed in the specs are they compatible or not. Im not big on Computers And your help will be greatly appreciated :)

web cam of any laptop does not require a driver........it will just show up in my computer as usb webcam in XP...........

normally systems with vista dont come with native drivers with XP......................so try searching other older machines with same parts of which ur not getting the drivers...........installing them will do the work................one thing that i culdnt find was ur sound card..............thats the most hectic part of a system in terms of obtaining drivers..............

Vista is sadly not the next operating system, more of XP with patches and a nice look, with more hardware requirements.

As for the downgrade path, I have done this an my machine performs marvellously - especially with the extra hardwre requirements of Vista.

A word of caution about reformatting, check to see if there is a 'Primary Sector' before the boot partition - sometimes manufacturers put emergency recovery and other tools here. Typically this is around 5-10Mb, but allow 5Gb.

To see it you will need Partition Magic, then to copy it, Acronis Drive Image or Norton Ghost. Once you have that sector, you can reformat. Replace the primary sector, then in the boot sector, put lovable XP (OK, maybe not quite lovable, but functional)

Then enjoy your machine. Any driver issues can be sorted out by joining somewhere like DriverAgent, for a one off $15 fee, you can (if you apply common sense) get the most suitable drivers for windows machines.

You going to have to reformat the hard drive vista says it backwards compatiable but i have seen many issues with this and i suggest refomatting the hard drive and loading xp

i just bought my laptop with window vista but i found out many software didn't fitted to this new window. i re-format my new laptop to Window XP and solving my problems just like that.
