Would a High Definition camera have any problems on a program like sony vegas pro?

and in the customer review he/she says that I would need to download a codec or something for the video files. i was just wondering if i could still import it into sony vegas without a problem. I also heard that minidv has better quality than hard drive but would it have better quality than an high def. hard drive camera. i havent looked into this one alot yet so i dont even know if it is hard drive, im assuming. so i might as well ask this

The latest versions of most good quality editing packages have no problem with "high D".

you are right that mini dv is the best for quality, because of the lack of compression. If you are going to take the trouble and buy a HD camera and then use a good quality editing prog then you will benefit from the picture quality. Unfortunately many people don't.

I have compared both hd Mini dv and hd hdd cameras I still think that mini dv wins hands down, but we are getting into personal opinions now. If you are going to spend a fair bit of money on a camera then you should take the time out to check them.

The can record on most of the media that is available IE tape, hdd and the like.
