How can I protect my credit card account from scam? |
so i tried to buy a camera from 86th street photo and video and had to deal with their HORRIBLE customer service...very rude and unprofessional people...they tried to sell a bunch of accessories for the camera I ordered in a ridiculously high price and because i didnt agree to that and said I just want my camera they sent me an email telling me that the camera was backordered and when i called them again to ask them why is it backordered now cuz when I oredered it it was in stock....the guy i was talking to stared yelling at me telling me that I was a liar....he was extremley rude...and then I ended up canceling the order. I read A LOT of reviews about them that they are a rip-off and that they are very ureliable...I wish I had read reviews before I oredered the camera...anyways,I am really worried that they will use my credit c information, they have it all..is there something my bank can do to help protect my card from these people..is there a way to use a password when I pay online? I have had my numbers stolen online. What my bank did was cancelled my card. Gave me an atm card for accessing my money and mailed me a new card in about 7 days. But my money wasnt able to be retrieved so I lost 350 some odd dollars. But I got a new card so they couldnt do it again. Also my bank has a password thing that comes up whenever I go to buy online. My bank is empower federal credit union. All credit card companies as well as banks now offer insurance which protects you from credit card theft, and any charges the thief puts on the card. There is a # on the back of your card, that you can call and ask about insurance for your account. by law, credit card data stored in the computer must be encrypted, so there is very little chance that any of their employees could look up your transaction and see your card info. You probably have nothing to worry about. Just review your credit card statement carefully to make sure there aren't any unknown charges. If anything shows up, dispute it immediately with your credit card company. redit card fraud is increasing everyday. Here are some tips to help protect your self from daily credit card fraud. |
