I have some photos at home that I want to get on my computer but I don't have a scanner....so....?

They are real photos but I want them on my computer but I don't own a scanner, so what can I do? Are there stores that have scanners that I can pay to scan my photos and send them to my email or something? I would be greatful if someone could let me know!
And don't tell my to take apicture of my picture with a digital camera b/c I've tried and its either blurry or the flash reflects and makes a big ball of white in the middle.

Okay you guys are saying they can put it on a disk, is that really expensive? i have a Staples near me, so I might go there....

Kinko's, Office Depot, you can even take them to a Kodak Picture center and then scan them to a disk and have the store that owns that Picture center put them to disk, you can also take them to your local library that by a very high chance has a public scanner for usage, and most of the time the libraries photo scanner is free to use, however, they would need to be emailed to your self unless they are a newer library with CD burners.

Try wal-mart, they can scan off photos for you and put them on a disk! Also, when developing your film, you can choose to have them put on a disk.

I think most photo developing places can convert your photos into a CD for a little bit more money. Walmart, RiteAide, Savons, Target, etc. Call them for prices...

Fedex Kinko's has scanners for rent...

Or even most drugstores like Walgreens have those "photo kiosks" that includes a scanner. You'll have to buy a "CD" from them, but it will have your pictures.

i think the photo shops and put your real pics on a disk for you. then it is just a matter of clicking and dragging. i say visit some shops until you find one that can do this for you .... or get a scanner.
~peace~

like the girl said before me...there are walmarts with a photo dept. but if there's no walmart around you...try any photo printing studio....i believe they have scanners there...if not try kinko's

You can take your photos to WalMart or Target and have them scan them and put them on disc for you. Then you take the disc home and put it in your computer and Voila! You have your pictures on your computer. (Click on My Computer, then click on the disc drive and your pictures should open up so you can see them.) Good luck!

Hey do you have a friend that has a scanner ? they could scan then send back to you in e-mail. I had some really old pic's of when I was a child and I took a snapshot with my PC web cam they came out nice

Go to a photo shop and have them recreate them on disk.... Pop you disk in your computer and upload them.... then you can transfer them over the net......

You can go to a drugstore.... some have photo shops within them.... like a 1 hour photo store... they can put them to disk for you.... some even do CDs......

Go to Staples... it'll probably cost between $10 and 15.00

Your sister,
Ginger

Just go to the library, scan, and then email to yourself.... photo kiosks are wayyyyyy overpriced for what you can do at the library.

Hi Liz.
I know you said you didn鈥檛 want to take a picture of your picture, but if you us a lot of external light you don鈥檛 need a flash, which eliminates the "big ball of white" in the middle. Make sure you shot the picture directly on top of it, so as not to distort the image. I use a tripod when do it just to keep it steady. I think Walgreens here in Tx will do it also.
Good luck.

Hi Liz,
I got Ur hint! Just too bad I'm not Ur neighbor! or we can get to know each and nether better. Ur friends or neighbors, surely one of them must have got a scanner? try knock at their doors and GOOD LUCK!

should buy one scanner for your daily use

Oh come on. Dont pay!!!!!!!

Go to your local library. Everyone these days has a computer section. You can use the scanner free of charge and then email it to yourself, or just save it to your memory stick if you have one. Open the photo's on your computer at home and do what you like with em.

Aint gonna cost anything, and you dont have to buy a scanner that you'll only ever use once in a blue moon.

Hope this helps...
