Hey there. I've just started working at currys and im into my second week. I've learned about basic home appliances including white goods and brown goods like washing machines, digital cameras etc.
I know it is hard work helping difficult customers and keeping the store tidy. (my local store is quite large)
If any of you have anything to share with me, such as things you were stuck on and how they were resolved, please tell me.
This is my first job and i want to really push myself and be more of a help there than i currently am. I feel as if i have no reason to there and i am just in the way.
Also, if you work in currys, could you please help me on the easyplan and how it works.
Is there anything else that i should know? Hey! Congrats on the new job!
I work as a manager in retail and I would advise you learn as much as possible about your products! Maybe you could ask your manager/supervisor if you could "specialise" in a particular area? Be it white goods, photography equipment etc... that way if a customer comes in for any of those products they can be sent in your direction. I think its better to know a lot about one area than a little about everything!
I'd also ask, if it isn't too much trouble could someone show you the stock re-ordering procedures or can you learn more about so and sos job etc. It shows your keen and willing to learn! Show your happy to get in about the nitty gritty... which sometimes can mean giving display items a wipe down etc!
Not very exciting but it keeps you bust and shows you have an eye for detail!
Also learn a bit about the company as a whole as well as you specific store... what are the companys goals, what are competitors up to etc?
Hope this helps and good luck! sell sell sell sell and sell some more. Great question unfortunately I am not in a position to help as I have no experience of working for Curry's. Have bought from their. In general when dealing with the general public always very polite, be attentive, always tell the truth and if you don't know the answer don't make one up tell the customer you have not worked their long and ask if you can get some guidance from a colleague. Alwyas finish the converstaion by asking if they would like to buy and then shut up. If they say NO ask why and if there is a specific point clarify that and ask again for the order until all points are clarified or they say they will not buy.
P.S. well done for getting the job and you have a great attitude wish I could find a couple of employee's like you. Take care and don't forget to enjoy the success of working to a system |
