Don't Over Look Me!! Help!?!?

Im leaving for Washington D.C. on Wednesday for a family reunion and I want to buy a digital camera to take lots of pics because I'll be up there for about a week, but I don't know where to start. I see a million digital cameras in stores and I don't know where to start. What are some good brands to look for? What are good features to look for? I really don't care for the price I just want a nice digital camera that takes good pics. What are your suggestions on digital cameras I should buy?

ok i love this camera i have it in red it take really great pics and u can change a whole buch of stuff on it like color and it has great zoom in fearture and i absolutly love it

but go with what ver camera u want just lok for how many meaga pixels it has and gow much zoom it has and if its a good price amd takes really good pics

Fuji makes a nice easy to use camera. I had one before I got my new Sony and I wish I had bought another Fuji.

have to agree with bubba. fuji has always been right for me. just be sure to pick the model that suits you.

Kodak takes good pix and is easy to use. I bought my daughter a 7.1 megapixel for $150, and it does the job.

My suggestion to you is read the owner's manual thoroughly before going to DC. Take some practice shots after reading.
Consider the Canon PowerShot A630. 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels. It has manual controls if you care to use them, or just leave on automatic. Takes AA rechargeable batteries. If you buy rechargeables make sure battery reads NiMH. Talk to salesperson about batteries. OR AA Energizer lithium. The Canon A630 will give you excellent 8X10s when enlarged. Should run about $180- Enjoy your trip!
PS- There s a memory card you Must buy. Could be $30-$40
