Does the computer store info even after you delete it?

I have a digital camera and connected it to the usb cable and selected the open folder to view pictures option. After I cut and paste pictures the pictures were removed from the camera and moved to the computer. But later I deleted the pictures from the computer too. The next time I took a picture and opened the folder to view the files the icon for the new picture did not come up and instead there was the icon for the pictures I had already removed and deleted from the computer. This happens for a few pictures and then it goes back to normal. I dont understand how the data for the old picture is still stored when I have deleted it both from the computer and its recycle bin and it is not stored in the camera. I'm not sure if this glitch is in the computer or camera and is the photo still stored in the computer even after you delete it? and how do I fix it does anyone know? Will disk fragmentation help??? I'm not sure what that is but my cousin was telling me about it. thank you!!

most data is able to be retrieved with the proper software. Even after deleting it. Some cached items stay in your computer for a long time unless you clean them up once in a while...

Next time it happens use view/refresh, often this is just the pc remembering what was there.
