What to look for in a digital camera???

i want a camera so i can post pics of items i make for an online store....what would be a good and inexpensive camera?? and what should i look for? thanks

Most cameras you get these days would be perfectly adequate. You don't have to worry about resolution, since you will scale the photos down for use in your store.

Avoid using your camera's built-in flash, which makes very harsh lighting. You may wish to make a little photo set for the objects. Set it up away from windows, so you can control the lighting. Use a bed sheet as a drape-cloth, and get a few light sources (at least two) so you can balance out their effects. This way you can get nice, consistent photos for your store. (I'm assuming your store won't be selling, say , semi truck rigs or other really large objects.)

check the megapixels.. the higher the better.. if they have the same megapixels, pick the lighter or the compact one..

if your looking for a cheaper cam, pick an 3-4 megapixel cam.. it takes picture good enough for your customers to see the item in good quality..

you can get a 2nd hand too.. digicams dont get broken that easy so, the risk of getting a bad deal is so little..
