How can you retrieve formatted pictures from a digital camera?

is there anyway i can get them back.....i would be in so much trouble if i dont i need 2 know if there is a program i can download b/c the camera ppl said you can go to a picture developing store and ask them about the program STILL NEED HELP THO!!!!!!

Otherwise you can purchase some software online. I've seen several different software products that claim to be able to do this. The important thing is that the card hasn't been used to save a bunch of pictures after the pictures you want saved have been deleted. The camera could write information over the original (deleted) files and this would likely make it impossible to recover these images.
Some software packages claim to even recover images from a formatted card. I haven't tried it, but I asume it's possible. The filesystem of the card (the portion of the card that controls where and how information is stored on the card) simply erases the file from it's list of files that are on the card... so the actual information is still there... the card just says it isn't and that the space that was occupied by the file in question is now available for use.
