Did I get a good deal on this digital camera?

I wanted a farly decent digital camera (not one of those keychain toys), so I browsed Ebay and a few other sites, but I found a used one in a pawn shop.
It's a HP Photosmart 935 and I payed $60 for it.
I checked it out in the store and also when I got home and it works great (came with a docking station and an extra memory card (128 meg).
Was it a good deal or should I have kept looking?

Yes, if this is all you need in a camera, then you did get a good deal! I personally am interested in serious photography, so I have a DSLR, and three lenses. But, if your camera has enough MP's to take good clear pictures, and all you want to do is take snapshots, then it is fine for that. A friend of mine had a small point and shoot like that, and it took AA batteries. He found he had to use rechargeable with it, because regular alkalines had to be replaced several times in one weekend. Also a 128 card is a very small card, and you may find that you want to get a larger one! *sm*

For me i would go to the local electronic store, and buy a brand-new "the more you pay the better quality you get"

For $60. bucks you did okay. You did not get what one would call a quality camera with lots of good features. You did not mention the amount of mega pixels or optical focus two important features. If it works well for you and you like it that is what counts. As time goes by and you recognize the camera's limitations then perhaps you can move up to a higher quality one.

Wow i am jealous.I payed about $150 for my canon camera and its wonderful.Thats is a awsome deal.

for what you got for the price yes you did well.could have nocked about 5-10 dollars off the cost but considering your shopping choices and the camera it was a fair price.of course it not a cannon or sony or fugi or nikon but then those all cost more because they have better lense technology behind them.

Digital cameras are delicate devices and should not be purchased used or without some sort of factory warranty. You could have paid extra for a new one such as the following recommendation.

Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:

1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time - 300 shots per set of rechargeables;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
8. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
9. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com; $99 at amazon.com]
