I'm going abroad for three months, what is the best way for me to store my digital photos while I am away? |
I have a Sony P200 digital camera. I am going to be in China and Japan and want a safe, reliable and quick way to save my photos. I've thought of memory cards and flickr pro accounts but want to know if anyone has any other thoughts SD cards or CD-ROM. Make sure you make at least two copies and store them at different locations. All the major companies have online photobooks now to store images- Kodak and Snapfish (jessops) spring to mind. If you're taking a laptop you could store them on there. I've seen devices that take images directly from the camera and store them on a hard drive, but I don't know what they're called. memory cards better and more safe. If you want to store them so that you can easily access them and show them to friends in Japan or China, I would say on a CD or DVD. I assume that you will be taking your laptop along, but what if your laptop gave up on you for some reason? Many places will have DVD players that can play jpeg files so you will still be able to use them. Few will have USB to read a memory card and you may not have fast easy access to the internet. |
