Bought Sony digital camera, works fine, but on entering/leaving a store it sets off store alarms.?

How do I fix the problem? Any way of tweaking the cameras ops to get rid of this sometimes embarrassing problem ?

sounds like who ever sold you the camera forgot to demagnitize it. Maybe you should go back to where you bought it and ask thyem to do that.
