Which digital camera would be ideal to take pictures for products will be showing on an on-line store?

Which digital camera would be ideal to take good quality pictures for products that will be showing on an on-line store . Requirements for it?

I really feel it is not the camera but the photographer that makes for a good image

I like the Kodak Easy-Share Z series. I have the Z740. It is quick and easy to use. It has a nice macro setting if you plan to use close-ups shots, need to shoot small objects or need to show detail. It also has a 10X optical zoom and a 5X digital. The color on Kodak's camera's photos really 'pops'. That'll help sales. :)

The Z740 has 5.0 mega-pixels, which will be more than enough.

The only warning I would offer is that the Kodak software bundled with the camera is terrible! It crashes my computer every time it tries to update. I had to uninstall it.

Any camera with 5.0 mega-pixels and a minimum of 5x Zoom would be a good choice. Kodaks and Sonys are always good choices, but I have had trouble with the consistency of the flash in all of my Sonys.

Any camera that has the ability to shoot with a Custom White Balance, or in Raw Format.

Having a custom White Balance is best if you are taking pictures of product on a white background.

If you get a camera that has the ability to shoot in RAW format, that you can set the white balance later in software.

Take a _good_ webcam.

Why? the quality is good for _online_ pictures in a webshop (you only need screen resolution of 72 or 96 dpi). So you have small files with less traffic and fast load on the site.

Overthere you can import the photos directly from the camera in your application (TWAIN etc.) without storing it on memory cards or on diskdrive.
