I want to get a good camra but dont know where to start?

this is going to be my first camera and i am willing to spend up to 700 $ for it but i want it to be really good and i dont want to have to get any attachment right away but i want to be able to attach a different lense if i need to
can you just give me either a couple of websites or stores to look at, i dont need specifics

go to amazon.com and look for the canon rebel xti. its a 10.1 mega pixel digital slr camera. you can get it with the body only or with a kit lens. the kit lens will probably be a 17-55mm lens. this was the first camera and lens that i got and to be honest with you its really great. easier to use than a nikon and great quality and a lot of stuff to play around with.

Canon is always a good bet.....lately the hottest best thing are SLR Cameras. They work like a 35mm film camera, but are digital. You have control over your lighting, etc. If you don;t need that much, then just get a point and shoot, usually with those the hugher the megapixels, the better and more expensive. Again, Canon is a great camera for both SLR and point and shoots. I usually go to a place like Fry's...they ahve good deals and usually the best variety.

go to best buy, their guys and girls there, don't work on commission, the just like telling about whats good and bad, ask them what they would buy for themselves

One word: CANON.

I recommend the Canon Rebel XTi. It is a great entry level DSLR. I've had mine for about 2 1/2 years now and I am still perfectly happy with it. It's available on Amazon.com for $589.88 right now.

i have a friend who bought a camera for photos and it cost like 80 dollars and it works really well she bought it at Kmart i though it was cheep compared to other cameras oh and my mom bought a really cool video and photo camera in sears and its really cool i think the mark is Camry

I would strongly recommend buying either a Canon or Nikon digital SLR. These cameras allow you to change lenses and produce far higher quality photographs than compact digital cameras. I wouldn't rule out other brands, but these two are the market leaders for a good reason.

I'm based in the UK, so don't know US shops off hand. I would find the model you want and then use a price comparison website to get you the best deal.
