Best Photo Printer to buy? |
My sister-in-law is pregnant with her first child and just got her first digital camera. She has mentioned that she would like to buy a printer so she doesn't have to go to a store to have the pictures printer, so I would like to buy one as a shower present. I am looking to spend close to $100 and the printer must be one that can download the pictures without a computer because she doesn't have one. Any suggestions for a decent printer that has affordable ink as well? Your best bet is to go to a store like Future Shop that carries several name brands, find a knowledgeable clerk, and tell him/her what you want. The printer will need PictBridge for a direct connection between the camera and the printer. Most of the specialty printers only do 4" x 6" prints, but some will do 5" x 7" as well, so ask about that. Prices range from $90 to $240, according to Consumer Reports. Their ratings for regular inkjet printers that have PictBridge included Canon Pixma iP4300, Epson Stylus Photo R260, and Canon Pixma iP3300, in that order of quality. All list at $100 or less. |
