HERES THEIR LIST....
Prohibited Items
The following kinds of items are prohibited as both checked and carry-on baggage:
*
Incendiaries, including flammable gases, liquids and fuels.
*
Corrosive or dangerous chemicals or materials, such as liquid bleach, tear gas, mace, radioactive and harmful bacteriological materials.
*
Batteries with acid that can spill or leak (except those batteries used in motorized wheelchairs or similar devices for mobility-impaired passengers).
Fragile and/or valuable items, including but not limited to electronic equipment. (Laptop computers and handheld devices may be carried onboard; however, Amtrak accepts no liability for damage.)
PLEASE HELP Normal toiletries, including aerosols (deodrant, hair spray) are permitted. Perfume, lotions, toothpaste, all that stuff = permitted
Camera, laptop, ipod etc. are allowed. But if they are damaged or stolen on board Amtrak will not pay you any compensation. You should not put these items into baggage that will be handled by someone else....they probably won't handle your bags with any care!
Normal batteries are allowed. It's the ones that you top up by pouring in acid that are banned.
Lighter fuel for topping up a cigarette lighter is not permitted. What I suggest you DO carry is a deli lunch of crusty french bread, cheese, grapes, fruit, cold cuts, and you can buy a bottle of wine on board. Take a camera, a pen, some paper, you might meet nice people and want to exchange emails, etc. Also take that hand sanitizer with you. Don't forget your sunglasses too! You might want to buy a map of the area you are training thru also! Happy travels! |
