My sony cybershot has been dropped in a pond ...help? |
my son dropped my new sony digital camera in a pond today. i hav tried the power buton but no power suprize !!! how does this effect the recovery? This is such a naughty thing to suggest but can't you dry it out put it back together again then take it back to the shop you bought it from plead ignorance and just say it doesn't work and could you have a replacement please? put it on a radiator or use a hairdryer and hope for the best About as much as chance as me dining for tea on Mars tomorrow morning punish your son Get it SUPER dry! So far, what you have done is right. Remember, if you want a chance with ANY electronic item that has been dropped in water, you ALWAYS need to dry it off AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!! Sounds a bit fishy to me separate all the parts that can be and use a hairdryer on a cool setting...then leave overnight and repeat in the morning...this worked with a phone of mine once so good luck:) First off, you've done the right thing so far. If the water is not salt-water you should be reasonably safe. Just make sure you let it dry thoroughly before you try to power it on again. Regular water won't really do major damage to most modern circuitry unless you try to run the electronics while they're still wet. I'd recommend letting it sit for a week or so without trying to use it, and let it thoroughly dry out. is it insured,if not get a new one, don't punish your son,he wouldn't of done it on purpose, would he, at the end of the day,it's only material. |
