REALLY easy question. serious.?

ok. so, I have friend who pretends to be a ditz. I know that she can be extrememely mature at times, but for the most part, she's a ditz. She has a laptop right? But in the past year, she's blown out the battery by leaving it on the floor and having her friend spill a drink on it, let it drop off a table, then off the lockers. She'll leave her laptop anywhere, not caring if anyone will take it.

problem is, her birthday is in may, and she says she REALLY wants a digital camera. but she wants one of those slim exilim ones. or something like that. my thought pattern is that if i do get it for her, she'll break it. but the thing is that with the laptop, the school/parents paid for it. but the camera, all her friends are pitching in to buy her this camera. But then again, she just recently started wanting a camera. does she really want it, or does she want it just to have it???



so. should we buy her the camera?

my bad. the part about her friends buying it for her, i forgot to add that maybe she'd be more careful with it because it might mean more to her.

Hmm, that's a GOOD question. I'd have the same idea too, if i were in your situation. First of all, you're right, since the FRIENDS are buying the camera, she'll probably put more caution of caring for it, but...you still don't know. Okay, i think you guys should have her parents buy the camera for her, or have herself buy the camera [if she really wanted it.] So like, if she REALLY wanted it, she would buy it herself. I think you should all just get her something else, that comes from your heart. It's the thought that counts. :) I'm sure she'll love anything you guys get her. Maybe its better that you leave the camera [and expensive items] to her, and her parents for getting it. But it's really up to you.

p.s. I think you guys are thoughtful friends who would buy a friend something like a camera. I'd wish my friends were like that. ;) Hehe.

Short answers today. Let her buy her own. Get her a picture frame with a note in it saying here's your frame when your ready to start putting the pictures you take in it. Goodluck!

Umm you can buy it for her but you have to decide with all your friends if you think that she is going to look after it or not if she was a real friend she would but by what you have told us about the laptop i wouldn't be surprised if she treated it the same.

this is really hard. you want to buy your friend the camera but you are afraid she'll just break it. you no your friend well, right, you should try the pros and cons. like pro, she'll be happy, con, she'll break it in a flash. you could try doing this and see which one has more. especially think if she has been really wanting this or out of the blue decide if she should get it. it s your money and you should spend it on something you know she won't break easily. i really hate to see money go down the drain. best of luck.

i think she needs to understand the value of money and other things in life. i think it would be a better idea for her to go and earn some moeny, and then buy the camera
