I am looking for something around $200, preferably. I want it to have good quality (for DVD), a hard drive and/or memory card (I am NOT buying DVDs all the time for the camera to record straight onto), a good battery life (at least 4 hours, if possible), and a long recording time.
image snapshots would be nice also. thanks; you've pointed out all the reasons i DON'T want a miniDV camera. im sorry to hear that your not buying a minidv camera. anyways, if i were you, check here first: www.camcorderinfo.com. if that doesnt help, i would suggest buying a minidv camera or raising your price range BECAUSE
1. all hard drive cameras i know of are jvcs and last time i checked, they sold for $800-$1000.
2. memory card cameras are not something you want for dvds.
3. minidv cameras allow to record over the tape, while offering better picture quality to dvd or hard drive cameras due to low compression.
4. there are minidvs that sell for around $200.
Downsides
1. does not offer too long of a recording time (60 minutes) unless set to lp (90 min. i think)
2. for stills, usually have to get a memory card.
3. need some space on your hard drive to put onto computer
so theres the facts. now you decide. hdd or minidv or higher price range? remember when in doubt, www.camcorderinfo.com it has all you ever wanted to know. |
