I am on a budget less than $900. I need it for college next year so I need one that has great battery power and memory. I'd like to use my digital camera and transfer images to the notebook. I'd like to have one with DVD/CD RW. If you know specifically a notbook or a very reliable brand please help me out. Thanks MACs are always the best way to go...
even if you're not used to using a mac (apple) if easy to use fast to learn, safe, don't have to fear about viruses and easy and very light to carry. My sister has a mac book pro and nothing about macs until she bought her and started to play with it and uses it everyday with no problems. go to www.apple.com. (by the way, I don't work for apple) i'm just a fifth grade teacher who uses it for everything. even the refurbished one work like new. a co worker of mine bought for a really good price and worked perfectly. Its worth it! it really is. well my personal favourite is gateway but thats because my dad got a gateway, sis got a gateway and bro got a gateway but i still think they are pretty reliable don't get dell those things will frustrate u The best thing to do is to purchase one after doing extensive research and testing of systems. Go to your local best buy, compUSA, Circuit City, whatever and try out all their models, get a feel for the speed, the tactile feel of the keys, the weight, the screen brightness, contrast, and aesthetics. People can throw out their favorites but not everyone else's favorite is going to work for you, it might not feel right for you, you might want softer keys, harder keys, or any number of differences. Asking "what is the best laptop" is kind of like asking what the best soda is, or the best car...
