Is this enough or?

My 12 year old wants a digital camera desperately. I have one that I got about 3 years ago but I have upgraded since then. I have the necessary accessories that go with the camera and just ordered a lithium battery, a deluxe carry case and a memory stick and was planning to put everything in the new bag and give it to her for the holidays.
I honestly refuse to buy a brand new camera when the one I speak of is in fantastic condition but I feel like I am being cheap. The items I ordered ended up being only around $35 (the bag, retailed at $20 turned out to be free with the purchase of the memory stick). A Digital camera is the only thing she wants but I still feel cheap LOL

Should I go ahead and buy something else as well although she really does not need anything?

PS: The camera originally cost me $200.00.

Thanks everyone. I also ended up buying her the electronic 20 questions game and a CD.

Don't feel like this is cheap! This is a wonderful gesture and I'm sure she will love it. Offer a private photo gallery to post her pics and/or a photo journal to capture the great memories!

Once she gets the hang of things, and shows some responsiblity to maintaining the camera, then maybe you can provide her with an "upgrade" as well and sell this one on Craigslist or Ebay!

No it's not cheap. She is only 12 right now. If the thing works then she has a camera. She may just get bored of it and it ends up sitting in her room.
Then again if she really finds she loves taking pictures this can be her learning tool. She could become very good with this one and appreciate what a new one could do. This shows you if it's a talent she has or just if it's to catch photos with.
You always have next year or a birthday to upgrade to something she will really use. By then you will know if she's put it to a lot of use or if it was just something she wanted because her friends had one.

I also don't think it cheap of you to give her your old one. I agree with the other answer that it could be a waist if you buy a new one and she ends up not "loving" photography.

However, I think I would also give her something else along with it. Maybe a photo album or two to go along with the camera. When she develops her pictures she'll have a nice place to keep them. If she's 12 she may like to try scrap-booking too. You can get inexpensive things for scrap-booking at Wal-Mart or Target.

I think your idea is great for a 12 year old girl. I'm sure she'll love it. :)
