I have bought a SONY DSC S500 digital camera just 10 days before.Yesterday when batteries ran down a flash indicating it appeared and I turned off the camera. From then I inserted new batteries but when I press the on button the camera starts for just 1 sec and then turns off itself.I tried the solution in camera manual that take out batteries for a min and then insert again and start the camera but the problem persist.I still have the camera's warranty, but I want to confirm whether itis minor problem or serious one so that I can take it to our Local sony dealer. First make sure the batteries are inserted the correct way round.
Also, I hope you are not using regular AA size batteries, which are not powerful enough to run a digital camera for very long.
You should really try to use rechargeable NiMH batteries (2500+ mAh).
Or you should use something like the Energizer e2 Lithium batteries (they are non-rechargheable though).
If you are still having trouble, then take it back and get the dealer to have a look at it. try more batteries the ones you installed may have been bad as well. If that doesn't work take it back to the store, maybe they can help, if not get a refund or exchange. Sounds like the "new batteries" you inserted were not correctly charged before usage.
The more capacity the batteries have (MAh) the more time is needed to charge them.
Good luck! |
