You've probably done this. Change the battery in a camera and the date resets itself to 1 Jan 2001. Then you don't notice it until after you've transferred the pix to your computer. Is there a way to fix this? Actually, there a couple programs otu there that will do this.
For a PC:

http://albumshaper.sourceforge.net/ Sorry to break this to you, but the date is one of those things that can't be changed in an EXIF entry. You can edit most of the other stuff, but this one you can't (at least I haven't been able to). I do a lot of my EXIF editing with Adobe Bridge, but there are probably a ton of cheaper or free programs out there that can edit EXIF to some level. I too have photos with screwed up dates, sorry I can't help.
