*SoulEyes Photography>>>Digital Camera battery

Ok,silly question?

Ok,so i got a new digital camera, one set of the batteries are charging and the others are kind of going dead.I need the batteries, like NOW.If i plugged the usb cord into the camera would that some how help with the charging of the batteries?HELP!?

Oh,i dont mean just into the camera, but like the camera and the computer.

Impossible, USB is only meant for data transer to and from the computer, no way it can assist charging, electricity from computer won't flow into the batteries!!

Actually, USB does provide power... it's up to the device as to how much it will use. While a device is plugged in, you can open up the USB hub's property window in your system's hardware settings to see how much power each port is drawing. Without USB power, how else would a USB keyboard get power? Report It

no that is strictly for uploading pictures, just pull the charging batteries out or i suggets getting e lithium batteries from energizer, the last 7 times longer...

Some Cams will draw a charge from the USB cable, but not all. You will have to look at you manual. It is not just for information transfer. Think of your IPOD people.

no

Nope, the USB won't help charge the batteries.

Possibly, my USB cable for my cell phone starts charging when I hook itup.

Oh just wait 15 more minutes! Those guys are correct. ;-)

no, the camera can't power from the computer. it runs from a different source.

nope. u need the camera to be turned on which means BATTERIES, in order for u to use it in general or on a computer.

No...the USB connection is used only to transfer data from your camera into the computer. Your stuck having to wait for the batteries to charge.

Not a chance in hell !!! Tried it, never works. Even if your batteries are rechargeable connecting the camera to usb will not charge them!!

Sorry no good news for you :(

There are certain cameras that can be docked to a cradle that draws its recharging power from the computer.

However, being that your camera seems to take regular batteries, the chances that it'll charge the batteries in the camera are slim to none. Reason being, if it were to try to recharge regular batteries, there can be problems (read the fine print on alkaline batteries). So for that reason alone, I'm pretty sure that your camera WILL NOT recharge batteries via USB cable.
