digital camera GUIDE

the guide should answer your questions You need to understand that point & shoot cameras just don't do well with low-light scenes, unless the shutter stays open a long time. In order to take good low-light pictures, the camera needs to collect a lot of light and when there isn't much light, the shutter needs to stay open longer, often resulting in blur if it's not hand-held.
Your best bet with small cameras will be to find one that has image stabilization / shake reduction. This reduces the minute shakes showing a picture with less blur.
You're not going to find a camera that fits every criteria you have, unless you can find a used DSLR in that price range. But here's what I would recommend and where it falls short compared to what you're looking for:
Panasonic DMC-FZ7: is 6.3 MP, meets everything else
Canon A710 IS: Uses AA batteries, meets everything else.
I'd lean more toward the FZ7, it has a 12x zoom as well and Panasonic tends to do better with reducing noise and you will have noise with low-light pics taken with a high ISO. |
