What brand batteries are best for digital cameras and what size, ie mAh.I currently use Encore 700mAh batteries but am constantly recharging them.
Will a recharge unit be effective no matter what size the battery is?I am using a Fameart PC14 charger. You can think of the mAh (short for milliampre-hour,) rating as how much "juice" is in the battery. In short, the higher the number, the longer the batteries should last between recharges. NiMH AA batteries can commonly found in capacities exceeding 2000mAh now. Assuming that's the size you're using, you can probably guess why you're charging so often.
Of the brands I've used, I've never noticed a difference between them on a "human" scale ... if I took precise measurements, I'm sure they may clearly exhibit differences in capacities (they range from 2100 to 2500 mAh.) But they otherwise all seem the same in terms of "I seem to charge them every ## days."
If anything, find out if the included charger is a "smart" charger. Those shut off after the battery is charged, whereas others may overcharge the battery and shorten its life. mAh is good, but the one you have got is not good for digital camera use!! its too weak and the camera will just drain out the battery in no time.
Buy 2700 mAh batteries (Recommended for digital camera) and you will see the difference.

I suggest and use the new sanyo's eneloops low self discharge battery or vapex low self discharge and the highest capacity you can afford, best if over 2500mAh NIMH.

that way when you charge them they will stayed charged for alot longer, as normal rechargable go flat after a short while and with age, these stay charged for longer. the chrager you have will be fine but note the bigger the batteyr capacity then the longer they will take to charge, but they do bundles (charger and batts) if you want a set!.
