Can I use 2500mAH AA batteries in a digital cam that came with 1750mAH? |
I'm having trouble finding replacement recharcheable batteries for our Sony DSCP31 Cyber-Shot Camera. I was wondering If using a battery with a higher mAH rating would harm the camera? I appreciate it A D U, It's been 3 years since I've had to get rechargeables for our little digital cam and I really needed that crash course on the batteries again. You'll be getting the 10 points for this one when it lets me. :) it will not harm the camera, the mAH rating on a batter refers to battery life. so a battery with 2500 mAH will actually last longer (not very significantly, however) than your 1750 mAH batteries. a d u got it right-- i bought an extra battery for my camcorder that has 3 times the power of the original battery Yes, it works, and as you'll have to charge it less frequently, you'll need less energy. Yes you can. what 2500 mAH means is simply this. you can drive 2500 mili-amps of current through an electrical circuit for 1 hour. |
