Can you buy alkaline batteries in Europe?

Going to be in Europe for 3 months and just wondering if I should take batteries for my digital camera with me or not.

I'm trying to avoid taking any electrical appliances (such as a re-charger); I know you can use adapters, but I've also heard you can still burn up the appliance.

Of course you can buy AA size batteries anywhere...however, you should never use alkaline batteries, as they are completely useless to use in a digital camera because they do not provide enough power.
You should think about taking AA NiMH rechargeables (2700mAh) plus a spare set and a charger. You will also need to buy an adapter plug or two for all your electrical items before you go.
And for backup you should consider Lithium batteries such as AA sized, Energizer e2. They are not rechargeable...but will provide you with enough power for up to 500 shots (depending on your camera usage).
have a great trip...

Yes, of course, you can find them anywhere. Enjoy your trip!

The same batteries in the US are available everywhere.
