Can I use Lithium batteries in my digital camera if it calls for Allkaline batteries? Check the voltage listed on the batteries. Alkaline is 1.5 volts, and my Sony's instruction says to use only rechargable NI-MH, which are 1.2 volts in my camera. Yes you may use Lithium.
