Which is the right camera for me?

I need a digital camera that has a high level of resolution (picture quality is very important) and one that has the video option and has a rechargabel battery.

For great photo quality, as well as an excellent 'movie' mode, you should look at Canon.
If you want a real compact point and shoot then look at maybe one of the SD models...the SD 630 (6 megapixels, 3X optical, large 3.0' LCD with 173,000 pixels). It comes with a rechargeable lithium battery. And it recently won a European award for 'best ultra compact'.
Or for something a little larger try one of the very good Powershot models...A630 (8 megapixels, 4X optical). However, with the larger models you need to buy rechargeable AA size NiMH batteries plus a charger.

some excellent cameras with video and rechargeable batteries:
panasonic lumix DMC-TZ1
fuji finepix f30
canon powershot SD700
panasonic lumix DMC-FZ30
sony cyber-shot DSC-N1

remember, it's not all about how many mega pixels a camera has. a camera with a lot of mega pixels won't do you any good if it has a mediocre sensor.
