Hi, I have an R817 digital camera that I bough just last summer, but the warranty ran out!! The camera was in my purse which was full of water from a bottle that opened during a hike! Is there any way to salvage it? It sometimes turns on if on the dock and plugged in. Is it worth me buying a new battery to see if it will work? I know it is too expensive to fix the camrera (I bought it for $160), but if somehow there is a chance it can still work, I will try.
THANKS!! let me tell you what i'd do. i'd open it and make sure everything in there is DRY .. then i'll buy a battery at the store to test it. if it still doesn't work i'd return the battery and try to sell it on ebay to see who wants to buy a messed up cam and fix themselves.. I totally agree with "Why!?"
