So many digital cameras, which one to buy?

My husband and myslef are looking to buy our first digital camera. I've been looking around for about 2 and a half months now but still can't decide on which one to buy. I'd like one that uses something other than AA batteries and at least 6 mp. They are all so different I just can't decide. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

You have a bunch to choose from. Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony all make highly rated digital cameras. To make the best choice you need to narrow the selection down to the features (eg., zoom, camera size, image stabilization, picture quality, etc) and price range that suit you best. A couple web sites have buying guides that allow you to check off the price and features that are important to you and then show you recommendations along with their review of the cameras. A good web site to do this search is www.dpreview.com. Click on their Buying Guide tab and then select Features Search.
I did this and ended up buying the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 which I think is an awesome camera for around $300. Figure on spending another $100 more for a few essential accessories like memory card, carrying case & spare battery.
Good Luck!!

Just get a cheap one.
Don't stress it, girl....
They really are all the same.

Panasonic LX5... its a nice camera.

a quick tips...buy some well known branded camera...like sony, nikon, olympus etc...

secondly...make sure you have lots of Mega pixel and digital zoom. like 10Mpix is better than 2.1Mpix. the more pixel you have the better the resolution

I have a pentax optio which is a cool waterproof digital camera. I had other digital cameras but had no use during snow or rain or waterparks. I would recommend a waterproof digital camera and any camera higher than 5 megapixel should be fine. Also remember the higher pixel support means larger photo files (in disk space) to deal with.

Your in Iuck, was in your shoes about 2 weeks ago. Here's what I ended up buying.

Casio Exilim EX-Z600

Specs: 6 Megapixels
Anti-shake comp.
Rechargable Battery (internal) comes with charge cradle
"Best Picture" feature...which automatically presets the camera for a certain type of picture: Flowers, night, portrait...etc.

Huge 2.7 Xtra brite screen that automatically adjusts.

Price: I purchased mine from Target for $279.99 they rangre from the aformentioned price up to $300.00. I'm really happy with it, and it's my first digital camera. Everyone that's seen it gives me compliments, and it's a relative bargain for what you get. Hope this helps!

hi there
well i suggest you go for (Canon Power Shot A630
Resolution creep hits the A series),
as the $300 Power Shot A630 increases to 8 mega pixels from the 5-mega pixel A610 that it replaces.
and i wish you the best

get the one you can operate! and has the things you want and need for the camera! check at a best buy or wal-mart

Most of the cameras from Canon have VERY good picture quality. Just have to pick the size and features you're looking for.

Why no AA batteries? You can get great NiMH rechargeable ones and fast chargers these days. You aren't limited to the proprietary brand and can save money. In an emergency, if you forget to have some batteries charged... You can buy some standard AA. You are done if your camera doesn't take AA and you have no battery charged or it becomes damaged. I love digital cameras that take AA batteries.

Bought a large set of the Tenergy NiMH batteries in AA and AAA sizes and a charger from this place. http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?Pag... After about 4-years and many charges they still run longer on a charge than regular alkaline batteries. Bargain-priced too!!!

I like Canons and have two. And their instruction manual is logical and user-friendly.

buy the ones that dont require you to keep replacing batteries! get the ones that have rechargable ones. or ones that you just plug into the camera and into the wall plug.

its soo much easier.

dont go totally cheap. because you get what you pay for. i would buy known brands because they usually have better quality (or else they wouldnt be knwon).

Canon is probably the best brand, but they mite be expensive. You should check it out

i have a Kodak Easy Share c300 and it has 3.2 megapixels and i like it

I happened to stumble on this Amazon page which has a good selection of small digital cameras to choose from at affordable prices. Good luck!

look for Canon within your budget !
