Battery acid question...?

ok, i left my digital camera unused with betteries in it for a few months and when i opened it a few days ago, there was battery acid coming off one of the batteries and some was left where the batteries sit. And now my camera won't work! Is it because of the battery acid?

well since its acid.....yea. Try to clean it out carefully...and just hope that it didnt corrode anything inside, if it did you might need a new camera

ya its cuz of the acid

Yes, it is. when u clean it out be careful not to get any on you

After you clean the mess the batteries made, scrape the contacts so that the batteries can make good contact. Then it should be good to go.

I doubt that acid got into your camera.
What has happened is the battery terminals are probably coated with corrosion. You need to remove that corrosion if possible, try scraping it off with a nail file or something similar. then wipe some vaseline on the terminals to prevent further decay. It may be a lost cause though as the corrosion may have eaten away the wiring connection.
