Does anyone have any suggestions on digital cameras for me to buy?

I love my digital camera, but it is EXTREMELY outdated. I got it like four years ago and it only has 2.1 MP. I would like to be able to get it for under $500, and preferably about $200 - $300, if that's possible. I would like at least 7 or 8 MegaPixels or more. And one more thing. The camera I have now has a very short battery life that drives me crazy. I have to replace the batteries every twenty minutes. Are there any good cameras that can keep the same battery for...I don't know, a lot longer. Or - this may be unrealistic, but it's worth a try - are there any that have a built in battery that stays charged a long time. Thanks so much for your help.

Check the link below. Good recommendations and compares four top models.

Try one of the newest canon sd models.

I like my Sony 5 mega pixel. But they have better ones now.

For longer battery life with rechargable batteries use them until they need to be charged. Use regular batteries if it uses AA types. Charge the rechargable batteries then swap them back into the camera. Keep using the regular batteries between charges. Only works when they are regular AA or AAA sizes does not work with special batteries. For special rechargable batteries buy an extra one and swap them between charges. People who charge the batteries too soon cause what is called memory in batteries where the batteries do not fully charge. Also some batteries do not hold their charge after a certain age.

I HAVE A
<Panasonic Lumix 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera - Brown
Model: DMC-FX07T > AND I PAID ABOUT $270. AT BESTBUY AND RECENTLY PRINTED A 12X14 AND CAME OUT GREAT. U CAN CHECK IT OUT ON THERE WEBSITE. WWW.BESTBUY.COM

Kodak easy share C643. I bought mine for $198.00 it's pretty good.

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W80, 7.2 megapixel camera. I paid under $275 for it. I really like this camera. It has a fast shutter speed, takes great pictures and has a large LCD screen AND a view finder which most cameras today are not made with. I bought the camera At the beginning of July and have used it quite often. I have only charged the battery twice now. It is a lithium Ion kind. You charge it in the wall.I like the camera because when you change the photo setting with the control wheel, it tells you what kind of setting it is on like 'shoot low light scene w/out flash' or 'auto settings/adjustable settings.' I know I don't rememeber what the drawings on the wheel usually mean. So I love this camera.

Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:

1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time - 300 shots per set of rechargeables;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
8. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
9. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com; $99 at amazon.com]

You should get the PENTAX Optio W30. It has TONS of features, VERY good picture quality, its sleek & stylish. And to add to all that, its waterproof! You can see the camera here: http://www.pentaximaging.com/products/pr...
I have had the PENTAX Optio W10 (a slighty older version) for a few years now and I absoloutly LOVE it!

Modern cameras do tend to have a much longer battery life. You would need 7-8 MP's if you are making wall size posters but this would also reduce your battery life. For general high quality photography with A4 size prints or less 5MP would be quite adequate (and cheaper). Also the less gadgets you have on the camera also affects the price.
